The Novohrad-Nógrád UNESCO Global Geopark suffered a great loss. Our founding member Ivona Cimermanova has passed away. Her spirit and activity have been incorporated into the consciousness of our geopark, and are now part of our heritage.

Since 2005, Ivona actively participated in the creation and operation of our cross-border geopark, as an expert on the Slovak side, as a member of the Coordination Committee of the European Geoparks Network, and as a representative of Slovakia in the Global Geoparks Network, she performed her tasks at an internationally outstanding level. Her expertise, kindness, smiling friendship and teamwork will be missed. We mourn together with her family.
